MapleQuirk takes intellectual property seriously — both our own and everyone else’s. This page explains what we own, what you may do with it, and how to report a design you believe infringes your rights.
1. Our intellectual property
All original artwork, designs, product photography, page text, the MapleQuirk name and our logo are owned by MapleQuirk or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, resell or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
What you may do: buy our products for personal use, and share photos of them on social media.
What you may not do: download, trace, reprint or resell our designs, use our artwork on your own merchandise, or use our brand name in a way that suggests we endorse you.
2. Our commitment to original designs
We sell original and properly licensed artwork only. We do not knowingly produce items featuring third-party trade marks, copyrighted characters, band or team logos, film, television or video game properties, or the name or likeness of any real person without authorisation. Every design added to the store is reviewed against this rule, and any listing found to breach it is removed.
3. Report an infringement
If you own a copyright or trade mark and believe a product on this site infringes it, tell us and we will act quickly. Send a notice through our Contact Us page including:
- Your name, and the rights holder you represent
- A description of the work or mark you own, with a registration number or a link to the original if available
- The URL of each MapleQuirk product page you believe infringes it
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the rights holder
- Your electronic or physical signature
4. What happens next
We aim to acknowledge every complete notice within 2 business days. Where a claim appears valid we remove or disable the listing promptly, usually before any further discussion, and notify the person who submitted the design. Repeat infringers are permanently removed from our catalogue.
5. Counter-notice
If your design was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send us a counter-notice with your contact details, the design that was removed, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed in error. We will pass it to the complaining party and restore the listing if the law allows.
6. Fan art and cultural references
We do not accept designs based on characters, logos, slogans, mascots or artwork owned by someone else, even when reworked, parodied or drawn in a different style. “Inspired by” is not a defence, and neither is crediting the original owner.
7. Personalised and custom orders
If you supply artwork for a custom item, you confirm that you own the rights to it or have permission to use it, and that printing it will not infringe anyone’s rights. We may decline any custom request we believe is infringing, and we will refund you in full if we do.
8. False claims
Submitting a knowingly false infringement notice may make you liable for damages and legal costs. Please be sure of your rights before filing.
